Chi-cah-go

Hi , am back in the blogging scene after a really long time. Am sure nobody missed me what with my once a year blogs. But then there have been no major updates in my thinking process nor did I find anything really interesting enough to write about.  Last month saw me making a trip to Chicago for some personal work. The city was its usual beautiful self, a much nicer cleaner version of New York, a city where the people are genuinely bothered about how pretty their city looks. You should have seen the dirty looks I got from people when I aimed the gum at the trash and missed it. 'Twas my third trip to the city, probably the reason why I had pretty much seen whats there to see and just had all the time in the world to just hang around and drink in the atmosphere of the city. The whole place looks like a nice little noddy town all nicely arranged and neat, a far cry from the mayhem of some major cities even within US. It looks like a bunch of guys stumbled upon this clean piece of land and decided to build a city there, thats how planned it is. Then they decided, lets put all the museums around here, all the offices around here, this will be the lake walk, this will be the shopping area, all the pubs will be here and so on. Hey hold on, lets also hire some artistes to put up art pieces in every nook and corner so people perennially feel like they are walking in some gardseum (thats garden + museum). Yes, me had a good time eating and shopping and strolling around the place. Now for the people. The Chicagoans are nice, friendly and helpful people. The city itself is pretty safe except that I was adviced to avoid the south side, whatever that means. The people love Mexican food as evidenced by the number of Chipotles that you see in every corner. They also have a love for everything cheesy and I meant literally. The place is famous for its deep dish pizza, the most cheesiest pizza ever which unfortunately I couldn't take a fancy for, give me a thin crust anyday. The city is filled with drawbridges which offer some amazing view of the city skyline. Then of course there is the "bean" which I will leave for you to find out what it is. The place is famous for its restaurants, yes they are as good as New York.  Apparently 40 percent of the country's best rated restaurants are in Chicago. So if you are a foodie, this is your type of place. The place is also home to the queen of entertainment - Oprah Winfrey. Unfortunately with my tight schedule I couldn't drop in to say hi. :) but next time I promised.
